Feathered wings, curl around me.
Cradle my cotton skin
So tightly in your bassinet,
That no harm will ever come to me;
Not again.
Feed me worms, and invertebrates.
Like an infant bird
That strayed too far from your arms,
And nurse me till the moon is full;
Filled with tears.
Keep me close, but not too close.
Teach me how to fly
And hunt, and catch to eat
But please, don’t throw me out of the nest quite yet;
Not again.
